Saturday Tours of the Murfreesboro Historic DistrictThe Association is happy to offer to the public conducted tours of major sites in the Historic District. The six venues are: the William Rea Museum (ca 1790), the Evans Tinsmith Shop, the Winborne Country Store (ca 1870), the Vincent-Deale Blacksmith Shop, the John Wheeler House (ca 1810), and the Agriculture/Transportation Building. Visitors should come by the Murfree-Smith Law Office, site of the Association's Gift Shop (Williams Street - north off Main Street at Walter's Grill) to register and begin the tour. Tours are conducted continuously from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each Saturday. Cost per tour is $7.00 per adult and $5.00 per student. For more details contact the Association office @ 252 398-5922 or call the Association's Gift Shop on Saturdays @ 252-398-5610. If you have a large group that wants to take the Saturday tour we would appreciate advance notice. Otherwise, see you Saturday. |
